It's 2020. A poet arrives in Western Australia to visit her Welsh  mother who is living with dementia in an aged care home. Border controls and visiting restrictions are in place, which means the poet must remain in isolation for two weeks. She seizes the opportunity to write a poem for the upcoming Australian Poetry Slam competition. Shifting between the worlds of the writing room, the Poetry Slam stage and the wounds of family history, the poet examines what it means to be a daughter, a peri-menopausal woman who is only just finding her voice and, above all, what it is to be human and vulnerable.

SIARAD is a spoken word theatre show presented by Caroline Reid in an intimate conversational style. With material drawn from the book of the same name, SIARAD is a blend of autobiography, poetry and humour with a consistent element of surprise. Storytelling at its best, SIARAD will make you laugh out loud and at times punch you hard in the heart.

SIARAD is available for touring.
