WRITING FOR RELIEF 2021
Free Daily Writing Prompts delivered to your inbox every day in August.
Coronavirus continues to circle the community, causing
borders to shut, raising fear and anxiety. To relieve my anxiety, I usually turn
to writing. To help me get started I've put together 31 writing prompt which I'd like to share with you.

I haven’t been able to write much this year. Has it been the same for you? Instead of writing I’ve been playing with pictures, making collages, junk journals and up-cycled notebooks. This has brought me a great deal of joy but these past months I have been wanting to get back to writing in a meaningful way.
SOOOO …. Last week I set myself some writing goals. In
August (which is poetry month in Australia) my goal is to draft 4 new poems and
finish 2 poems that are currently in-progress. To help me I’ve put together 31
writing prompts, one for each day. There are different types of prompts such as
Observations of Daily Living, Word Play, Pop Culture, Images, Other Poems and
Short Stories, Lists, Phrases, and more. Some I'll use as warm-ups, others for new poems.
Fancy come along for the ride? The WRITING FOR RELIEF Campaign is suitable for poets and writers, established or emerging, or those just wanting to give writing a go. Scoot over here: TO SIGN UP.
You’ll receive a writing prompt in your inbox every day in the month of August. PLUS, thanks to the lovely partnership I have with my publisher Spineless Wonders, there'll be giveaways and discounts on books and other stuff during the month.
FREE!
I want to make the prompts accessible, so I'm offering them for free. The WRITING FOR RELIEF prompts are gathered from books, writing mentors, workshops I’ve attended, plus those I’ve invented myself over the past 20 or so years of writing. They're intended as a guide, not a prescription. You might use them as a warm-up before you begin working on something else; or you might use them to generate new material. Most importantly just allow yourself to be open to discovery, to enjoy the words, the storytelling and imagery that arises.
